3D Printing 101

  • Everything begins with an idea: We take those ideas from 2D designs and concepts, transforming them into digital 3D models designed to work seamlessly with the 3D printing process.

  • Ever wondered how digital 3D models come to life? It's all about 'slicing' them into gcode, a language that guides 3D printers. But here's the twist: each model has its own unique printing needs. To craft flawless results, we dive into the nitty-gritty of settings, ensuring every layer meets perfection. It's this attention to detail that turns digital dreams into tangible masterpieces.

  • The printer follows the path outlined by the gcode, all while extruding filament through a 0.4mm nozzle, heated to a toasty 205°C. The filament melts as it travels through the nozzle, once extruded the material rapidly cools and solidifies. This solidified layer then becomes the base for the next, gradually building up layer by layer into a creation you can hold in your hands.
